Soap and Glory Thick and Fast Mascara Review

Hello again :)
Just wanted to do a quick little post on Soap and Glory's Thick and Fast Mascara that came free with Elle magazine. I would have never have known about this lovely little freebie ;) if it hadn't of been for Kristin's post. I've never read Elle before in my life, but wanted to give the mascara a go - so thought why not!

First of all the brush is massive! I don't mind this but, it is difficult to apply this without getting it on your eyelid. It's a lovely true black colour, which is great. I think the consistency of this mascara is quite thin and it's difficult to get enough product on the brush to really coat your lashes. It took about 2 coats to get a full enough coverage whereas, with the my Maybelline Collosal Cat Eyes Mascara i can get away with just one coat. I really love the way this separates the lashes and lengthens them. In my opinion i think it lengthens my lashes more as opposed to thickening them, but that could just be me haha!
I reaaaaally love the packaging, i think it's lovely and simple :). I probably wouldn't buy this again but, I will enjoy using it up as i do think it makes my lashes look quite long.

Go pick up Elle magazine if your're interested in giving this mascara a go :).
Thanks everyone!
Lots of love,
Izy

Hair, hair and more hair :)

Hello agaaaain :) feel like i'm on abit of a roll today with blogging :) haha. This post is going to be about my hair and the way i've changed it over time, hope you like it. Firstly i think i should mention that my hair is naturally quite wavy however, i straighten it almost everyday as i don't really like the way it looks naturally.
Okay so this is an extremely embarassing and old picture haha! But this is my hair naturally with just my fringe straightened. This is also before i first coloured my hair so it's naturally just this dark brown colour. (Summer 2009)
The first time i dyed my hair was a reddy colour, from what i can remember i used a L'Oreal Casting Creme Gloss in Mahogany, it was semi-permanent. My hair was quite long and i think i was relatively happy with my hair at this point :). (December 2009)

Next, I had my hair cut abit shorter (just below my shoulders), i dyed my hair a reddy/brown colour and had a golden/gingery highlight put in my fringe. This haircut felt like such a change to me as i was used to having relatively long hair, but i did like it :). I remember i wanted a change as i'd just had braces and felt all horrible :( so this made me feel a bit better. (March 2010)

I then let my hair grow abit and kept it this similar reddy/brown. I had extensions glued in at the start of Summer 2010, i hated them, they ruined my hair, sorry i don't have any pictures. I then had my hair cut into a proper bob at the end of Summer 2010, i really liked it at the time but looking back at photos i can see that it doesn't suit my face shape atall. I had it dyed a similar colour to the photo above with the golden highlight through my fringe.

In October 2010 i decided i wanted a different colour hair, i didn't want reddy/brown hair anymore. I wanted something a bit darker, so i used a Schwarzkopf Live Colour in Bitter Sweet Chocolate, i was expecting it to come out dark brown, but it literally came out black :( i hated it. Now i think short, black hair can look absolutely gorrrrrgeous on some people, however, it did not suit me atall. I remember not feeling very confident at this point.

In December 2010 i had extensions put in, they were micro loop hair extensions rather than glue-in and i also had my hair the same Schwarzkopf colour as before. However, i think i just discovered that extensions weren't for me atall, waaay to much hassle and maintenance.
In March 2011 my bob had grown out and my hair was just shoulder-length. It was still dark brown but i didn't mind it quite as much :).
In Summer 2011 I used ColourB4 to get rid of the dark brown and had blonde highlights using a cap with tiny holes which you pull the hair through (i'm sorry it's not a very technical term isit ;)?). So sorry for the rubbish photo!!
At the end of summer 2011 i dyed my hair a browny colour which looked quite red in some lights. I was happy because my hair had grown quite a lot :) :) :).

In November 2011 I dyed my hair this red colour using a Schwarzkopf dye in Red Passion. I reaaally did like my hair this colour, however, i found that my roots went so red and the ends of my hair were just more browny red. I was also happy with the amount my hair had grown at this point :).

In December 2011 i used the Colour B4 Extra Strength Hair colour remover again and use the highlighting cap thing again(?) haha. I was so happy with how much this lightened my hair :) although when you used the highlighting cap it is so difficult to reach the roots, so they were abit darker as you may be able to see in this photo...

Today i dyed my hair again to try and get my roots as light as the rest of my hair, which it did :) here it is now..
(and yep i am wearing my onesie ;) hehehe)

So sorry it was such a looooooooong post haha! Hope you enjoyed :)
Let me know what you think!!

Lots of love,
Izy

January favourites :)

Hi :) feels like i haven't posted in aaaaaaaaaages, i'v been having internet trouble :(. Had a bit of a rubbish week as my boyfriend has been in Florida and i'v been missing him so much :( and to top it off i now have a cold haha, oh well. Last night we got so much snow!! I haven't been out in it but it does look really pretty. This post will be about my January faves, i know it's a little late buuuuuut better late than never ;).

Vaseline - This tints your lips slightly and i love it! My lips have been abit dry and haven't looked their best throughout January due to all this cold weather, so this has been a bit of a saviour, not only does it make your lips nice and soft it also makes them a nice pinky colour :).

Sleek Brow Kit in Dark - My mum got this for me for Christmas and i've used it everyday since. It makes doing eyebrows easy, I just brush through mine with a clean disposable mascara wand then use the wax to define my brows and fill them in using the powder. It comes with mini brushes and tweezers which are handy when out and about.

2True Effortless Eyeliner - I bought this recently and think it was around £2 which i think is aaaaaamazing for such a brilliant product :). I love using this when i do winged liner, it's really black and stays on all day. So cheap and so worth it :)

Daisy by Marc Jacobs - My lovely boyfriend got me this for Christmas :) and i love it! It smells and looks beautiful. It lasts quite a long time before having to spritzzzz again which is great as i think it will last a while.

Soap and Glory Clean On Me - I've used this everyday since i've had it and it makes showers on cold, horrible mornings abit more enjoyable :). It smells amazing and lingers on the skin, will definately keep repurchasing this!

Barry M Nail Paint in Mushroom - I think this is a perfect colour for this time of year, i love the way it looks on my nails, kinda makes me feel abit sophisticated ;) haha. As with all nail paints, it lasts a couple of day before having to reapply.

Weleda Pomegranate Regenerating Body Oil - These past few weeks my skin has been abit dry, which is not nice haha! I got this in a Glossy Box in the Summer and kinda put it to one side and forgot about it however, I was rummaging through boxes under my bed and i came across this. This has been a gem for this past month and has really helped hydrate my skin :) i like it alot.

Okay so that's it :) i hope you liked this. I'm gonna do another post now about my hair as i had it done today :) so keeep your eye out for that one if your interested.
Thankyou so much for reading.

Lots of love,
Izy
